The Pediatrics Department of Ankara Güven Hospital, a baby-friendly hospital, serves our pediatric population by and under the supervision of our physicians round the clock. Minor patients are admitted at any time of the day without need to make an appointment if there is an emergency. Patients are served at Health Child, Pediatric Emergency, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Psychiatry and Pediatric Allergy outpatients clinics as well as Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
Neonate Department and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Monitoring in an incubator, phototherapy, ventilation and other treatment modalities (surfactant therapy, intravenous medication therapy etc.) are offered to premature babies or neonates with health problems at our Neonate Department and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Mothers are provided with postnatal training on various topics including but not limited to breastfeeding and baby care.
Healthy Child Outpatient Clinic
The clinic offers treatment and follow-up services round the clock at inpatient and outpatient settings, including monitoring, diagnosis and treatment for healthy babies.
Our team is comprised of an Allergist certified by the American Board of Allergists, a specifically trained nurse and dietician and all diagnostic and therapeutic modalities are offered asthma, allergic rhinites, hives, food allergy and eczema. Skint tests and respiratory function tests are done in this unit.
Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes
Diagnostic and therapeutic services are offered for neonatal hypothyroidism, pediatric and adolescent thyroid diseases (goiter, Hashimoto thyroiditis, iodine deficiency, hyperthyroidism), Type I and II diabetes mellitus, obesity(insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, hepatosteatosis), developmental retardations, problems related with adolescence (early and late puberty, polycystic ovary syndrome, hirsutism, menstruation disorders) and metabolic bone diseases (vitamin D deficiency etc).
Diagnostic and therapeutic services are offered using state-of-the-art equipment for congenital and acquired heart diseases of patients in the age group og 0 - 16 years(s).
Pediatric brain and nerve disorders are common conditions, although they can be hardly recognized even by deliberate parents. Permanent disabilities can be avoided by long-term treatment and follow-up of conditions, including but not limited to epilepsy, episodic apnea (breath-holding spell), febrile convulsion, syncope, headache, enuresis, attention deficit, learning disability, sleep disorder, posture instability, gait disorder, neurological developmental retardation, cranial trauma, birth trauma, facial palsy, spasticity and hypotonia.

This unit is specialized in diagnosis and all medical and surgical therapeutic modalities of congenital and / or acquired respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders in the pediatric age group ranging from neonates to adolescents.
Pediatric Nutrition and Diet
This unit deals with nutritional needs of babies (age range:0-2 years). In addition to patient-specific recommendations for pediatric and adolescent nitritional disorders (loss of appetite, obesity, diabetes etc), mothers are specifically designed for pregnancy and breastfeeding periods.
