What We Do
Our department provides comprehensive histopathological and cytopathological examination of tissue and cell samples obtained through biopsy, surgical resection, endoscopy, fine-needle aspiration, and cytological collection.
We process and analyse specimens from virtually every organ system, supporting surgical, oncological, gastroenterological, gynaecological, urological, and pulmonary clinical teams with the diagnostic clarity they need to act.
Oncological Pathology
Cancer diagnosis and staging depend entirely on pathological confirmation. Our pathologists are core members of the multidisciplinary tumour board, providing not only diagnosis but also tumour grading, margin assessment, lymph node evaluation, and increasingly, molecular and immunohistochemical profiling that informs targeted therapy selection.
Accuracy here is not a quality standard it is a clinical obligation.
Advanced Diagnostic Techniques
Our laboratory is equipped for immunohistochemistry (IHC), special staining, frozen section analysis for intraoperative consultation, and cytological preparation techniques, including liquid-based cytology.
Where molecular pathology or advanced genomic profiling is indicated, we coordinate with reference laboratories to ensure that no diagnostic question remains unanswered.
Intraoperative Consultation
When surgeons require real-time pathological guidance during an operation to assess surgical margins, confirm a diagnosis, or determine the extent of resection, our frozen section service provides rapid intraoperative reporting.
This direct collaboration between pathologist and surgeon is a critical safeguard in complex oncological and other high-stakes procedures.
