The Vaccine of Youth: A Magical Touch on Your Skin

Hyaluronic acid is particularly effective in the field of skin health and beauty. More than half of the hyaluronic acid in our body resides in our skin.

Most people dream of a firmer, more vigorous and brighter skin. “The youth vaccine” method, which is commonly mentioned in recent years, is frequently used to achieve this look. Dermatologists from Güven Çayyolu Surgery Center provided information on the subject of youth vaccine applications.

How does the youth vaccine affect the skin?

The youth vaccine, which became immensely popular in recent years, is applied as an injection with very small and fine needles named mesotherapy needles. Its effects are observed with activation of the cells in skin that perform self repair and provide humidity, flexibility and firmness. Thus, youth vaccine provides vitality, brightness in skin, alleviation of wrinkles and firmness.

What are the conditions for the youth vaccine to be administered?

Youth vaccine can be applied to areas that are especially problematic.  It also can be used as a complementary treatment to other therapies for skin areas that are damaged due to alcohol consumption, smoking, acne, sun exposure and solarium. It has been in use for more than 5 years in Europe and the United States of America and yields promising results.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid, which is included in the youth vaccine, is one of the most critical “building blocks” of the body. It is found particularly in blood vessels, internal organs, inside the skin and joints. Hyaluronic acid is the main component of connective tissue and it provides the skin with brightness, humidity and firmness. Our skin starts to lose brightness, vitality and flexibility after the age range of 25-30 due to decline in the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin. Externally introduced hyaluronic acid slows down the aging process.

What is the difference between youth vaccine and fillers?

Hyaluronic acid is used in aesthetic procedures, especially for filling purposes. It is the most reliable agent as a filler material. The difference between youth vaccine and fillers is the lack of connective tissues which are used to prolong the life time of fillers. It spreads into the dermis due to its pure state, it does not cause mass effect and it rejuvenates the skin due to its primary function of preserving water. It rewinds the aging process of the skin and provides a younger and healthier appearance.

What are the benefits of the youth vaccine?

It is a safe agent that shares the same molecular structure with hyaluronic acid in the skin which can be applied to all skin types over the age of 20 and causes no reactions except a slight bruising due to injection. Its structure has important effects which provide a solution for problems caused by dryness in face, neck, cleavage and hands and is commonly used for those problems. Its most crucial field of use is anti-aging applications and this anti-aging therapy can be used either as a preventative or a complementary treatment.

How is the youth vaccine applied?

There is no standard protocol for youth vaccine applications; they are administered in accordance with the treatment protocol that is formed by the physician corresponding with the needs of the patient. However, general application is performed in 2-3 sessions at 10-15 day intervals. Injection is performed after application of an anesthetic cream to prevent any discomfort caused by the needles. Mild swelling, redness and, in rare cases, bruising may occur in the application site after the procedure. This irritating appearance may persist for 2-3 days. Effects of the youth vaccine are seen within 2-5 days in form of vitality and brightness. Use of oral hyaluronic acid tablets may be recommended in some cases, especially for patients with excessively dry skin.  Increase in humidity of skin and a healthier skin tone can be observed after the second day.

Are there side-effects related to the youth vaccine?

There are no known side effects related to the youth vaccine. However, temporary problems such as slight redness due to injection may occur. Only patients with excessive susceptibility to needles (allergy to low quality metals, nickel allergy) are excluded from the treatment.

Abundant water consumption is recommended following the procedure. Decreasing the amount of smoking and alcohol consumption, if there are, and using sunscreens are the most important points of consideration.
